Iranian President's Helicopter Involved in Rough Landing

Rescue Teams Deployed to Crash Site

President Raisi Uninjured, According to Initial Reports

One of the helicopters transporting Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage to East Azerbaijan province crash-landed on Sunday, Iranian state media reported. Rescue teams have been dispatched to the site of the incident, but there is no immediate information on casualties or injuries. President Raisi was reportedly on board the helicopter at the time of the landing, but there are no reports of injuries to him or any of the other passengers.

According to initial reports, the helicopter was part of a group of three carrying President Raisi and his delegation. The helicopters were reportedly en route to inaugurate a dam project in East Azerbaijan, where President Raisi was scheduled to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The cause of the landing is still under investigation, but witnesses reported that the helicopter experienced technical difficulties before it crash-landed.

President Raisi is currently in his second term as President of Iran. He is a hardline conservative who has taken a strong stance against Western influence. His visit to East Azerbaijan was part of a broader effort to strengthen ties with neighboring countries and promote economic development in the region.
