Carolyn Parrish Announces Her Resignation Date From Her Role As Ward 5 Mississauga Councillor

Carolyn Parrish announces her resignation date from her role as Ward 5 Mississauga Councillor

- Parrish's resignation is effective March 15, 2024

The move is to allow Parrish to focus on her upcoming mayoral campaign

Mississauga Ward 5 Councillor Carolyn Parrish has announced that she will be resigning from her position on March 15, 2024. The announcement comes a little over three months ahead of the planned run for city mayor.

Parrish has stated that she will be resigning her council seat once the by-election period begins, as this will save taxpayers money by limiting the number of by-elections that need to be held.
If residents have any other questions about voting, more information can be found by contacting The City of Mississauga Elections Office.

Parrish's decision to resign from her Ward 5 seat upon registering as a mayoral candidate, is due to the fact that any by-election for the ward would cost approximately $500,000.
